Can something be done about the rampant inflation on student fees for graduate PhD students? Last year they were about $400. Last semester I was at $750 and next semester mine reads over $800.
The issue of keeping tuition, student fees, and student debt as low as possible is an issue that is vitally important on this campus as well as those across the country. Equally important is the University’s and the University System of Maryland’s work with the governor and the General Assembly to ensure that funding for higher education remains at adequate levels.
Unfortunately, we are all feeling the pinch of higher costs and the recession. However, in the proposed tuition and fees put forth to the Board of Regents for the upcoming year, there is only a very modest increase proposed for the Transportation Fee.
